How complementary therapies can help
CAM Users
People are turning to CAM- Complementary & Alternative Medicine, as a preventative means to stay healthy, & as a way to find relief from aches & pains, digestive complaints, anxiety & depression. The National Institutes of Health estimated that 36% of Americans use complementary therapies, including mind-body modalities & energy work. Energy work deals with the subtle life force that exists in and around the physical body. Different cultures call this life force prana, chi, ki & spirit.
Reiki energy therapy gets results
Research at the University of Texas Health Science center has shown that Reiki brings on the physiological relaxation response, while lowering blood pressure & decreasing anxiety & stress hormones in the body. The May/June 2004 issue of Alternative Therapies in Health & Medicine peer review journal cites a study in which Reiki significantly helped with depression after only six weekly treatments.
Science is catching up with ancient energy therapies
A way to heal the body is through the mind, and vice-versa. Physics is proving that thoughts and emotions trigger biochemical changes in the brain and body. Dis-ease often shows up in the body after there has been a blockage or imbalance in the body’s energy pathways, often due to modern stressors and the hectic demands of our busy lives.
